We went to the New Year’s Fireworks in Brisbane last night. I feel as if I need some resolutions or reflections now. Last night as the fireworks flew, the crowd around us cheered and I felt like an outsider. Their excited joy didn’t infect me. We are still here in our little home. Last night we went to the Mocking Jay movie. It was sad and well done. I’d say it is about the human side of war and the portrayal of war. It’s picture is dismal. We ate at Cactus Jack’s in the mall and it wasn’t good. The food pretty poor. We will try to find some good Mexican food here.… Read the rest

We have been domesticated. The pet feeding routine here is odd. I give Bullet the cat some raw kangaroo meat twice a day. For Ryder the dog I either give him a chunk of an enormous bologna-sausage-like roll of dog food or he gets some raw chicken breast or cooked chicken leg meat. Ryder is complicated. The sounds of birds tweeting greets me this morning. It’s rather a ruckus out there. We keep a bird feeder supplied in the backyard and this morning the Galahs are the first in line.
