Jill and I went for a walk this morning. It was quite cool. We are both excited to leave Florida for now. Its fun to follow the heat. The septic guy came and drained Matt’s tank while Jill and I ate lunch on the dock. My brother once uttered the wisdom, You’ve got to accept it like the septic tank. We did just that in the bright sunlight.
I fashioned a new splint for my hand to replace the boxing glove sized one I slept in. The last one was nice because it had a flashlight in it but that got old. This one has a conveniently long six inch ruler and this stretchy sticky tape we used on our AT hiking poles. Its sleek, sexy and makes a nice hand gun.
We went for a ride in the pedal kayaks. I can’t very well paddle with three working fingers on one hand. We found a dolphin swimming around looking for lunch it was nice enough to stick around us for awhile. Popping up to take a breath every once in awhile. Then we explored back in the mangroves to find the fabled canal to Barrancas. Barrancas is a street that the post office is on. We didn’t have a map but after only one wrong turn we found the canal. Then we missed another turn and ended up at a dead end. We pedaled back to the house with the legend of Barrancas still alive.
