We are in El Madresal on the Pacific Ocean. This place is amazing and terrible. It is kind of a resort but extremely rough around the edges. The sunrises are spectacular and sunset is not to missed. It’s 6:20 and I’m watching the morning light grow in our cabana. I think the power turned off at 6 AM. It turns on around 6 PM. Jill and I are here with our friend Amy, from Minnesota. She’s a wonderful person, full of life. We arrived just after sunset on Monday. We ate various shrimp dishes for supper, watching the pacific waves crash on the beach. Tuesday I awoke about this time a took some pictures of the sunrise and the moon. We whiled away the day reading, walking, and playing in the waves. Supper was again various shrimp dishes. Today we leave to go back to San Cristobal. I’ll miss the unending warmth and the sound of the sea. I’ll miss watching the waves rising, toppling, and piling onto each other. There spray blowing back creating angry manes for the foaming panicked stampede up the sand. I will miss the chirps of the geckos eating mosquito after mosquito. I won’t miss the bites on my arms and legs.
Beautiful pictures and writing Martin!
