Today is our last in Antigua for a time. Of course the day is gorgeous. The sky is brilliant blue. The volcanoes are clear of clouds. So, I’m watching Fuego puff it’s puffs. Agua sits to the south stretching upwards like the earth slowly trying to invade heaven.
Soon we will go find bus tickets for our journey south. We leave Guatemala behind, something seen, something done, future fodder for small talk with strangers. Although we have no definite plans I think we will return someday. But now it is on to other places and people. We go south before we go north, east before west. Easy friendships come and go or stay and prosper. The places and faces multiply in our memories. Happiness is here and there and him and her. Jill and I are in an all or nothing experiment of what’s possible. Now it’s on to new possibilities.
Beautiful and well written, Martin! You’re getting better and better at this blogging business! Did you get my email?
