So here we are in Hoi An. Probably the tourist capital of Vietnam. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage site. Fai Fo, now Hoi An, started as a trading centre for China and India. The Japanese and Europeans came along and the place blossomed. Around 1700 the river silted up and ships couldn’t get in so the place lost its greatest asset for traders. Now tourists come enjoy its charm, food, and tailors. Jill and I ate delicious Indian food tonight at Ganesh. Last night was the best Banh Mi sandwich at Banh Mi Phuong. We are also doing some errands too. I hope to find a shirt to replace one I left along the way. Maybe some pants to supplement the one pair I’ve been wearing everyday as well. Full stop.
